College of Nursing and
Health, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat
University, joins in strengthening the
community mental health network to
prevent
suicide
On
Thursday, February 13, 2025, lecturers
from the College of Nursing and Health,
Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, led
by Assistant Professor Ariya Deeprasert
and Dr. Sirikan Dechaworakul, joined as
speakers to provide knowledge in the
project to develop a network and mental
health service system to prevent suicide
problems, organized by the Psychiatry
and Drug Addiction Group, Somdech Phra
Phutthaloetla Hospital, Samut Songkhram
Province, with Dr. Charan Pankongngam,
Director of the Hospital, presiding over
the opening ceremony at the Ramakien
Meeting Room, 7th floor, Somdech Phra
Phutthaloetla Hospital.
The
lecture content covers important topics,
including:
>> Overview of the
suicide situation in
Thailand
>> The role of
community networks in monitoring and
recognizing warning signs
>>
Guidelines for caring for and preventing
people with depression
>>
Methods of providing initial assistance
for people with suicidal
tendencies
>> Planning and
developing sustainable community mental
health networks
The
implementation of this project aims to
enhance knowledge, understanding, and
skills in dealing with mental health
problems for personnel in the community,
which will help increase the potential
to care for, prevent, and provide
assistance to people at risk of suicide
effectively.
This project is in
line with Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs), especially
???? Goal 3: Good
Health and Well-being, which aims to
reduce the suicide rate and promote good
mental health for people of all
ages
???? Goal 17: Partnerships for
the Goals through collaboration between
educational institutions, public health
agencies and communities to create
sustainable mental health care
networks
This activity is
therefore another important
collaboration that has a positive impact
on comprehensive social development and
confirms the role of the College of
Nursing and Health, Suan Sunandha
Rajabhat University in driving the
mission of mental health for a strong
and sustainable society.
