The
College of Nursing and Health, Suan
Sunandha Rajabhat University,
strengthens professional standards and
patient safety through training in
nursing law and ethics, aiming to
elevate the quality of the healthcare
system towards
sustainability.
------------------------------------------
From
October 27-28, 2025, the College of
Nursing and Health, Suan Sunandha
Rajabhat University, organized an online
training program on “Law on Tort
Liability and Professional Ethics for
Nursing Practitioners.” Assistant
Professor Dr. Tasanee Attharas, Dean of
the College of Nursing and Health,
presided over the opening ceremony, with
administrators and faculty members in
attendance. The training imparted
knowledge of laws related to the nursing
profession, coupled with awareness of
ethical standards in patient care, to
enhance safety and quality of healthcare
services at all levels.
This
training not only enhanced the knowledge
of the college's personnel but also
contributed to the development of the
overall healthcare system. Participants
collaboratively developed work practices
based on legal and ethical principles
that can be applied in teaching, student
practice, and services at community
hospitals in the area. Furthermore,
post-training evaluations showed a
significant increase in
participants' understanding of
nursing law, with over eighty percent
indicating they would apply the learned
guidelines in supervising the practice
of nursing students. To prevent nursing
errors that could affect patient safety,
this training program demonstrates its
ability to contribute to the development
of stricter practice standards in both
nursing schools and network healthcare
facilities. This is a crucial mechanism
for reducing professional risks and
improving the quality of patient care at
the community level.
This
training aligns with the Sustainable
Development Goals, particularly Goal 3,
which aims to ensure good health and
well-being for all. Capacity building
among nursing personnel enhances patient
safety and reduces the risk of treatment
errors. It also relates to Goal 16,
which focuses on building strong,
transparent, and just institutions, by
promoting compliance with laws and
ethics among healthcare professionals,
thus safeguarding human rights in the
healthcare delivery process. Therefore,
this training goes beyond internal
capacity building; it serves as a
pathway to strengthening a responsible,
reliable, and patient-centered
healthcare system.
This
initiative by the College of Nursing and
Health Sciences exemplifies the role of
higher education institutions in driving
professional quality and enhancing
health safety in society in a tangible
way, while providing a foundation for
developing practical guidelines that can
be scaled up to healthcare service
networks for sustainable
development.
