College of Nursing and Health Welcomes Representatives from New Zealand Institute of Technology to Discuss International Academic Collaboration in Nursing and Health
----------------------------
Assistant Professor Dr. Tassanee Attharos, Dean of the College of Nursing and Health, warmly welcomed Mr. Jeff Howe, Director of International Partnerships from the Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) and Unitec in Auckland, New Zealand. These institutions are among the largest public institutes of technology in the country and are recognized as leaders in vocational and professional education. The visit aimed to discuss potential academic collaboration between the institutions.
During the meeting, the Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) and Unitec expressed their intention to establish collaborative networks with educational institutions in Thailand, particularly in the fields of nursing, elderly care, and medical imaging. The discussion also included the development of joint academic programs, such as a 2+2 program, which would allow students from MIT and Unitec to study and undertake practical training in Thailand. Thailand is internationally recognized as a regional Health Hub, known for its excellence in medical services, education, and high standards of patient care.
Furthermore, the collaboration would provide opportunities for student and academic staff exchange, as well as cooperation in other academic fields. It would also promote cultural exchange between Thailand and New Zealand.
