United Against Dengue Fever: Campaign to Eliminate Mosquito Breeding Grounds in Chokchai Ruammit Community, Chom Phon Subdistrict, Chatuchak District

On August 25, 2026, Asst. Prof. Dr. Araya Tipwong, along with 4th-year nursing students from the Community Health Practice course at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University College of Nursing and Health, collaborated with Public Health Service Center 51 Chatuchak, Public Health Volunteers (PHVs), and residents of Chokchai Ruammit community to conduct a dengue fever prevention and control campaign. The activity involved surveying and eliminating mosquito breeding grounds in the community.
This activity aimed to promote public participation in health care and disease prevention caused by mosquitoes, while also providing nursing students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge from the Community Health Practice course to real-world practice, working collaboratively with public health personnel, PHVs, and local residents.
The activity included providing information on dengue fever prevention and jointly surveying and eliminating containers with stagnant water. These are breeding grounds for Aedes mosquitoes, following the "3 Clean, 3 Prevent" principle:
???? Keep the house clean and airy, preventing it from becoming a resting place for Aedes mosquitoes.
???? Dispose of garbage and eliminate containers that may become sources of stagnant water.
???? Cover water containers tightly to prevent Aedes mosquitoes from laying eggs.
This field visit not only helps raise awareness and promote disease prevention behaviors among the public, but also contributes to the development of nursing students' skills in community health work, collaboration with partner networks, and public service. This enables them to apply their knowledge appropriately to promote health and prevent disease in the community.
