Nursing College
Conducts Community Outreach at Wat
Phakini Nat: Health Promotion and Dengue
Fever
Prevention
On
October 12, 2026, the College of Nursing
and Health at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat
University, led by Assistant Professor
(Special) Dr. Surang Chueawanitchakorn,
brought students to the Wat Phakini Nat
community (near Sang Hi Bridge) to carry
out health promotion and mosquito-borne
disease prevention activities. The
initiative was supported by Public
Health Service Center 31 (Erb-Jit
Tangsubutr) and local public health
volunteers.
The activities were
divided into two parts:
Basic health
screenings for community members,
including vital sign checks, blood
glucose testing (DTX), weight and height
measurements, nutritional status
assessment, and health
counseling.
The “Wat
Phakini Nat United Against Aedes
Mosquitoes” project, which
provided education on the mosquito life
cycle, mosquito-borne diseases,
prevention methods, and risk reduction
strategies—including the
“5P-1K” protocol for dengue
fever prevention. Participants also
collaborated to identify and eliminate
Aedes mosquito breeding sites and
applied Abate (larvicide) throughout the
community.
These activities aim
to provide students with hands-on,
practical experience while raising
public health awareness and fostering
community participation in the
sustainable prevention of dengue
fever.
