On October 28, 2026, the College of Nursing and Health, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University (SSRU), led by Assistant Professor Dr. Lakwirun Chotisiri, Associate Dean for Student Affairs, together with fourth-year Bachelor of Nursing Science students, collaborated with Public Health Service Center 25, Huai Khwang, under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Department of Health to organize the project “Bueng Phra Ram 9 Phatthana Community Development: Disease Vector Prevention.” The activity took place at the multipurpose sports ground in Bueng Phra Ram 9 Phatthana Community, Huai Khwang District, Bangkok.
The project aimed to enhance community members’ knowledge and understanding of disease prevention and encourage their active participation in controlling disease-carrying animals and insects. Educational games were incorporated into the activities to make learning engaging and practical, enabling participants to apply the knowledge in their daily lives. Key topics included maintaining cleanliness, eliminating breeding sites of disease vectors, and properly managing household and community environments.
This initiative reflects the College of Nursing and Health, SSRU’s commitment to promoting community health and disease prevention. It also provides nursing students with valuable opportunities to develop teamwork and collaboration skills with healthcare networks, cultivate a spirit of public service, and strengthen their sense of social responsibility. Ultimately, the project contributes to building a healthier and more sustainable community.
